Why Have a Boudoir Contract?

The Boudoir Experience- Contract

Ever wonder what happens when you turn your hard-earned $ over to a business? Do you feel like it could be shooting craps- throw it out there and see what comes up? Wouldn't it be nice to know exactly what you are getting when you invest in yourself? Enter the Boudoir Contract.

"Boudoir contract sounds so businessy. It doesn't sound like the uplifting experience I was hoping for." But if you think about it, the contract puts your mind at ease. And that is why I prefer the word agreement to contract. The agreement lets you know exactly what to expect when going into your boudoir session. You will understand what your investment is for, how the process works and what happens after the photo shoot. Your only worry will be about the posing. And I take care of that for you, too!

"Will I need a lawyer?" Not unless you want to. The agreement is simple enough to read, and only takes a couple minutes. And no big words! It tells you what is expected of both you and me, the photographer. Here are the topics in a typical agreement:

  • Deposit and Payment- Shows that you paid money and sets the date that I will be there.

  • Cancellation- Things come up. This shows what happens if you need to change the date.

  • Copyright- Lets you know where you may want to share your images if you like.

  • Pricing- How much?

  • Failure to Perform- What happens if photographer is not able to make said date.

  • Late Arrivals

  • Illegal Substances

  • Recording

  • Legal Age

I mentioned before that your boudoir session can be an uplifting experience. As a photographer, contracts are not my thing. (I did have an attorney check it out to make sure that all is legal.) My strength is helping people feel confident in front of the lens. I love when I see someone who is nervous when we start but they begin to relax and have fun during the photo shoot. My goal for you is to have the best boudoir experience possible. Having a boudoir agreement helps so much to set your mind at ease when you arrive for your session. You know what is expected of you and me, and there will be no surprises. We will also have a pre-planning session before your boudoir shoot to go over everything that happens on your boudoir day. Like I said, the boudoir contract sounds businessy, if that's a word, but I like that it gives you something to hold on to.

And be sure to know that if you have a question, you can always call, text or write.
