5 Reasons to Have Professional Makeup for Boudoir

"But I can do my own make-up." I have heard this and I understand. You put on your own makeup daily so this is a no-brainer. But is it really? Let me tell you why a Hair and Makeup Artist is included with your boudoir session.

1. Treat yourself- Your boudoir experience is a day to not only look special, but to feel like the rock star that you are. You apply makeup yourself all the time. How would it feel to just let someone to serve you for a change? I know you are used to doing things for yourself and everyone else. Take a break! Let us handle this for you!

2. No stress- This may be your first boudoir photo shoot and you might feel a little nervous about it. Why let the nerves draw crazy lines with your eyebrow pencil? Figuring out which foundation or blush to compliment the mascara? Let the HMUA do the thinking for you. And besides, this is a great time to just relax, have a beverage and chat  before the shoot. 

3. Confidence- By now you might be a bit more at ease and ready to rock out your photo shoot. Just think about celebrities sitting in their makeup chairs and having that done for them. They don't worry about how they look, they have the confidence that a professional has made them look amazing in the lighting that they will be in. When you rise out of that chair you will feel stunning!

4. Wardrobe- Your HMUA does more than just hair and makeup. She will be there for your entire boudoir session. If you need assistance with wardrobe changes or need an adjustment, she will be there to help. Being a male photographer I realize that a tag might be showing or your hair needs to go another way. I respect my clients and am happy to provide female assistance when wardrobe help is needed.

5. Photoshop? Yes, I do light re-touching. My hope for you is that your makeup will enhance your look and not make you look like someone you are not. Boudoir photography is about making you feel better about yourself and your body. When you see your images I want you to be proud and confident like you have never felt before. A beneficial reason that I hire a pro is to save you $. There is a price list I use if I need to do extra editing because the makeup is not right for the lighting situation we are in. You don't want that and I don't either!
