I am hoping everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! As the new year rang in, I came across this quote, "What would you attempt if you knew you would not fail?" I have heard the quote for years, and have to remind myself when I am lacking confidence. When I look back, I can think of times when I thought for sure that I could not accomplish what I set out to do. And then miraculously things happened. For example, auditioning for the Chorus that sings with The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra seemed totally out of reach- until I read the acceptance letter. Or becoming an established wedding photographer. And to think that I had no clue when I started. Or the time that Vikki went out to the movies with me. Like the Alan Jackson song, "my hands are sweaty and my knees are weak!" All those times in my life came true because I stepped out my comfort zone.
I love the image above. It is on the wall at The Sweet Brewnette Cafe in Madeira Beach. It kind of gives you something to lean on, to give you confidence. And you know what? No matter what the commercial says, it's not the shoes! It is good to have something that gives you hope and self esteem, but the courage really comes from deep down inside you. It has always been there. It is just a matter of taking that first step. I have read that as people grow older, they regret more the things they didn't do than the things they did. I would love to see you take the first step. If you are thinking about doing boudoir pictures and are afraid you are a little shy, just think of the feeling of confidence and empowerment when you hold the album in your hand. If you are considering boudoir, or anything else for this year, I wish you the very best and that you overcome your fears to become what you want. If the shoes help, take them with you! The best is yet to come! Happy 2019!
