Three Outfits for Bridal Boudoir

What to wear? This is probably the one of the first questions anyone asks when they inquire about a boudoir session. There is really a lot of planning to go into a boudoir shoot- not just showing up for sexy pictures. We discuss what to wear even before the pre-planning session. Take advantage of our complimentary lingerie guide that shows various types of lingerie and the body shapes that go with them. I want you to feel your best to rock out your photo shoot! But what are some of my favorites that make  great boudoir photos? Here are three that might give you some good ideas.

Robes

A great way to start a boudoir shoot. If you feel a little nervous at the beginning, start with a robe and keep it tied and closed and not so revealing. This is a great way to ease into a session as a robe also gives you something to do with your hands- play with the lapels, tie or untie the belt or grab the hem and be a little sassy! A robe can feel silky and soft and just make you feel good and comfortable with a touch of class. Does anything feel better than wearing a robe? Try playfully teasing the camera knowing that there is more there than what meets the eye. And you can wear your next outfit under the robe and save the time of a wardrobe change. Convenient, too!

Garter Belt and Stockings

To me there is nothing that says boudoir like a garter belt and stockings. It conjures up images of an earlier time when a woman's boudoir was a mystical, almost magical place. It may take a minute or two longer to put on, but it is totally worth it. After all. you can put it on before the robe and have two outfits ready to go! If you don't have the garter belt or stockings a simple bra and panty set can be just as alluring.

What color to choose? You can pick white to stay with the bridal theme, or go with the ever-sexy mystical black. Choosing any color in between that complements your skin tone will be equally seductive.

Yes! A Simple Towel

As the robe is a comfortable way to start a boudoir photo shoot, a simple towel is a fun way to wrap things up! (I know there is a pun in there but I'm not going there) The session is coming to a close. You have been having fun and a lot more relaxed so there are so many things a towel can do for you. Want to be playful? Have fun with it! Want to look voyeuristic? Do that, too! There are so many poses you can do with the towel like putting on makeup so it looks like you just got out of the shower. Maybe turn your back to the camera and open the towel and pop your hips out to a side. If you're feeling brave you can even drop the towel in front of the tub. You get the idea. A towel is a simple outfit/prop you don't have to go out and buy.

If you are looking for ideas what to wear, I hope this has helped. These outfits are simple yet sexy. You probably have most if not all of them already. I usually recommend 3 outfits and this will fit in perfectly!  Let me remind you that at Hudson we will talk about what to wear long before your session. Then when we have your pre-planning session we plan the whole boudoir day out so you know when to arrive, how your hair and makeup will be, what to bring and what to wear. There are no surprises. I look forward to hearing your thoughts and if you have any questions I am here to help.
