Overcome Boudoir Shyness

When you book your first boudoir photography session, you can feel some enthusiasm with anticipation.  And maybe a little nervous! You may be thinking about what it will be like in front of the camera in less than modest clothing. Use these 5 tips to overcome the nerves and enjoy your boudoirs session to the max!

1. Know that you make the decision of how much you want to show. Do you want to be more modest, or make it hot hot hot? This is a time for you to feel confident and sure of yourself. And you have the choice.

2. Do on-line window shopping. Look at various lingerie sites and see what you might like and feel comfortable wearing. Getting an idea of what will look like in those may give a shot of confidence. 3. Practice! Yes, you can practice in the privacy of your home in front of the mirror. Try posing and expression. Really get into it! And by the time your photo shoot comes up you will be ready to model like a star!

4. Meet in person with the photographer before your photo session. Get to know them and feel what it will be like to work with them. I like to have a coffee chat a week or two before the session so we get to know each other. This is also a great time to plan the day and what wardrobe you will be bringing.

5. Your first outfit of the boudoir session. I like to start with something not usually related to boudoir. Maybe think about your little black dress or those dress jeans and a top you feel great in. This helps to get used to the camera and feel what its like taking easy posing directions.

If you practice these the nerves may settle quite a bit. The whole boudoir experience is not just the shoot, but also the buildup.
