As I sat in the coffee shop yesterday, I wondered, " So what is the definition of boudoir?" So, of course, I Googled! I found several definitions, and also many styles.
So after I napkined up a few drops of coffee ( I accidentally bumped the table ), I decided to look at my own work to define my boudoir photography. I found I like the use of shadows, and I like using warm tones. But what I like the best is that I try to show a woman in her best poses that bring out her femininity and elegance. I always strive to make each image classy, no matter how much clothing is being worn.
And a fun part? It's the emotion in intimate photos. I try to think of ways to get a feeling of her personality. I might ask about her SO, or how she feels about a glass of wine and a chocolate-covered strawberry. And sometimes the most fun boudoir images are when she is not expecting the camera to click. She is enjoying the boudoir shoot so much that she relaxes and her smile just beams. It's a great moment!
So I would say the definition of Jerry's boudoir photography is intimate photos that exude personality in a classy, elegant way. And I am happy with that. Then I finished my java ( I like the dark roast btw ), and feeling proud of myself for skipping the brownie, headed home.
