An Empowering Boudoir Story

At the end of her boudoir session she told me, "I am not hiding anymore. This is my body and I am not ashamed. I love my body and I don't need to be perfect for anyone but me."

As you can imagine, this boudoir session last week became very empowering. She is a beautiful woman, so what she told me had me totally floored.

She wrote about the trauma and dramas that has happened to her over her lifetime. If you didn't know her, you would never know. She is kind, funny, smart and eloquent. She wears an engaging smile and is genuinely genuine.

When I last photographed her , she was worried that I wouldn't get the right angles. I tried to reassure her that I always look for the most flattering angles to make the client look and feel her most attractive and sexiest. Still she would say, "You can Photoshop that" or "Don't take this one." (She did learn to trust me!)

This time was different. This time it was all about feeling good about herself. She wanted to throw away the trash feelings and feel the love for herself. Her boudoir session came at the perfect time. It was a time to say "Yes, I've had a load of bad feelings, but I choose to live a freer life!" I told her that her story will help empower a lot of women.

I have had the pleasure to photograph many beautiful women. I am always amazed, and grateful, that their photography session helps them feel better about themselves. Boudoir photography can do that for a person.

Her final note: "So this is me. Like it or not, I'm done trying to be someone for everyone but me."
