Posing Pt. 2

Like I said last week, I prefer some natural movement ( like a model ) over staid posing.

  • 1. If it bends, bend it. Elbows, wrists, knees, ankles. Straight is boring.
  • 2. Ballet hands. Have you ever noticed a ballerina's hands? They are relaxed, graceful and elegant. You may think that hands in a boudoir picture are not important, but but it shows comfort with one's self and really adds to personality.
  • 3. What is closest to lens is the biggest in the frame. Want to make something smaller? Shift it away from the camera. This works the opposite way, too!
  • 4. Pull elbows away from the body. Hanging the arms close to the body makes the body that much wider. Bend the elbows out and show off that beautiful shape!
  • 5. Have fun!  Nothing in intimate photos says "I love myself" more than enjoying what you are doing. If you are a little nervous, that's fine because you are bringing energy to the session. Just remember to have fun. too!
