What a great memory! I took this image 3 years ago at my first boudoir photography workshop. The workshop was lead by Marissa Boucher and Kimberlee West, The Boudoir Divas. They were based in San Diego, and I feel like they are the ones who made boudoir popular. They held a workshop in Miami Beach, Florida, and I flew there from Ohio for the one day. I was lucky to talk with them before anyone else arrived. Since I had not begun my boudoir photography yet I was asking them if a male could be a boudoir photographer. They told me yes, as long as everything is professional and classy. I had figured on the token response but was encouraged, nonetheless. It was at the end of the day when the light came on. During the wrap-up, Marissa stopped and said to me, " Jerry, you worked so well with the model. You gave good direction, made her feel comfortable and got some great shots. If I were you, I wouldn't worry about a thing." Wow! Being the only male in a workshop full of women, she would never know how much that meant to me. Fortunately, I just attended a seminar last week that she was the featured speaker. I was able to share my story with her and her smile of gratitude was priceless. I hope that everyone who reads this can remember a time when they had an inspiration. I know I will be forever grateful. Thank you, Marissa!
